We are Sakeena and Shawn Price. We created the Gumbo Pot Food Stand after our two backgrounds. Sakeena's family is a mix of Creole and Texan. She grew up on Creole and Texas Southern food. Shawn is a native Chicago who grew up going to different Chicagoland's food stands. He was also reared in Texas in his teenage years and enjoyed the smoked Texas bbq. With Sakeena's training and years of cooking and her husband's restaurant management experience, they open up the Gumbo Pot in 2019.
